About Us
Middle East Arts International (MEAI) is a nonprofit arts organization based in Seattle, Washington (USA). Founded in 1997, MEAI has hosted masters of Middle East dance and music in workshops and theatrical shows, including Hossam Ramzy of Egypt, Phaedra, Jajouka, Samara and Ghazal of New York City, Leila Gamal of Indiana, Maleeha and the Kahraman Near East Ensemble of Iowa, and Amir Thaleb of Argentina.
Now in its tenth year, MEAI has many exciting events planned for 2008 and beyond!

Our mission:
Middle East Arts International is dedicated to promoting excellence in Middle East-inspired dance and music and nurturing cross-cultural awareness by providing the Northwest community with unique access to nationally and internationally renowned artists. MEAI sponsors culturally and historically responsible workshops, hosts theatrical shows of the highest quality, and collaborates with other local endeavors to share knowledge with the larger community about the Middle East and build bridges across cultures.
